FYi RADiO was initially formed in the Spring of 2007 in its pilot guise of Straight Talking: Another Perspective - broadcast on Resonance FM and Pride London website we received ver 6,000 listeners. We then went back to Resonance FM to record two further series, podcasting them to the world - simply promoting ourselves by Facebook and MySpace, through our contact and networks we amassed a weekly audience of 1,200 - 1,500. You could say that across 24 shows we had 72,000 ears, 360,000 toes or nearly ONE MILLION ribs!
FYi RADiO currently runs on funding and our own contributions, we received £5,000 from the British Council Youth Initiative Scheme, LGBT Consortium has also provided funds and we are in the process of making further applications. BUT, donations are useful but what is better is setting FYI Radio a task to produce an innovative show on your chosen topic. You will fund the production of this and have the chance to speak to our young LGBT people (who we class as 16 - 30 years).
